3 Months of Cheap or Free Summer Activities

When it comes to school breaks I do my best to take a hands off approach. I don’t believe in overscheduling my kids with activities and adventures, because my kids work hard during the school year (and so do I!) so we deserve a break. Unfortunately,  if we don’t have some sort of an activity planned throughout the day I will lay in front of Netflix and they will become one with their devices. It also doesn’t help that I can’t afford it during the summer with most week long camps running between $150 and $350 per child…times three it gets a little crazy.

Here are 75 activities to get you through the summer months and help save your children from becoming device zombies. Some activities can be done on the fly while others will require a little planning, but they are all going to be fun! Click the graphic at the bottom of this post for a printable version of my list.

Great ideas! Growing up I usually explored the woods behind my house, read, rode a bike, hung out with friends, swam, played with the hose, used chalk, played with dolls/barbies…and yeah, some TV watching at times. haha
