The Countdown is On!

4 Weeks.

4 weeks until I gain my freedom.

4 weeks until I can do whatever I want…within reason.

4 weeks until routines and organization.

4 weeks until meetings and volunteering.

4 weeks until SCHOOL STARTS! *throws confetti* *pours mimosas* *does happy dance*

This might seem a little premature, but with three kids being in elementary school summer has been a struggle. We’ve gone to the park and the pool. We’ve hit the beach and the library. Two thirds of the kids did a week of summer camp to hone their acting abilities. We did Cow Appreciation Day, Fourth of July picnics, taken the Beanboozled Challenge, and gone Pokemon GO hunting. We hit the $1 movie special EVERY Tuesday and have played video games until our eyeballs are ready to explode.

They need to go back and I need a nap!

I have 4 weeks to gather supplies. The countdown is on!

There are a ton of supplies to buy this year (8 boxes of crayons!). Not to mention the backpacks and sneakers and clothes that fit so I am simplifying my school supply shopping as much as I can! Hello online shopping!

The other morning I woke up to an email from Amazon telling me that they have school supply lists online now. This excited me greatly. While some things are going to be cheaper in store, there are still a handful of school supplies that are better bought online.

School supply lists can be found in the “Lists” drop down right next to your cart. So I logged into my account to see if anyone had uploaded our lists yet. They hadn’t, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and upload them for the whole school like the good PTA Secretary that I am.

School Supply Lists

Making Your Supply List

I was a little nervous about finding all of the supplies for the entire school, but the list creation was really simple. There are organized categories for the commonly added items and a search bar for those rare exceptions.

Organized Supplies

After you add your supplies to the list you can change the quantities or even add a comment. Many of our lists require 2+ of many items (sanitzer, tissues, etc) or that an item is brought in by only the boys or only the girls.

Quantities Comments

That’s it! Once everything is added to your list hit publish and it will appear when your school is searched.

Shopping Time

Once you are ready to purchase Amazon gives you the option to add the entire list, or only the items you need to your cart. This is fantastic because with one kid I need everything, but with another I only need a few items.

Buying the Supplies

I love Amazon Prime! Not only am I going to be able to do some Back to School shopping in my PJs with an adult beverage in hand, but I will get free shipping. Hopefully this year we will be all set for the start of school before Meet the Teacher.

Have you started your Back to School shopping? When do your kids go back? Are you going to be joining me for mimosas, or will you be wiping away tears in the drop off lane?

I love sleeping in during the summer too much to look forward to back to school. 🙂 My sleep schedule never, ever adjusts to the early wakeup time. I’m not human unless I wake up after 8!

I am the queen of sleeping in…my kids, however, have been up by 6 most days this summer! We are all begging for some routine and somewhere to go LOL

We don’t go back until after Labor Day here in NY as we didn’t end school until the last week in June, but still will be counting soon enough, as well!! 🙂 #happynowlinkup

It seems like the Northeast all operates on a Labor Day – end of June schedule, but the South goes back earlier and earlier! Commence the countdowns!

God Bless Amazon, right? I feel like we just started summer and already I’m seeing people getting ready to go back. I saw my first display in Walmart and it gave me heart palpitations. 🙂 We don’t go back until after Labor Day so I think I still have 7 weeks to go to arcades, hunt Pokemon, hit the pool and yell at the kids to stop fighting with each other. #happynowlinkup

Amazon is my hero! I don’t know what I would do without it, and I can’t wait for it to save my butt on Back to School shopping.

What a cool feature on Amazon! I no longer have school lists, but this would have been handy when I did. Sounds like you have had a busy summer so far — hope the next 4 weeks are filled with more happy than harried! 😉

I am going to do my best to get us out of the house a little more and HOPEFULLY that will cut back on the fights! Gotta keep the little people busy!

Anne Marie you had me laughing with this post. I’ll definitely be joining you in celebration mode. If only we could sit side by side; you with your mimosa and me with a nice tall latte. We would have a lot of stories to share. 🙂
We are off until early September so I think you can relate to my pain. And by the way, I just finalized my school books purchase on Amazon. All I can say is ‘whew’…big sigh of relief!

Mimosas, lattes, and high fives for surviving the summer! I love that Amazon has everything from groceries, to clothes, to books and school supplies. Makes my life easier when I want to hibernate from the world LOL

Haha! You are awesome! So should I not tell you that school starts next Thursday for us? Yep, thank goodness for Amazon! My Amazon Prime account is making my back to school shopping super easy!

    • Anne Marie D

Next Thursday!? Wow!! Don’t you just love getting shop with Amazon instead of having to drag the kids to the store?! So much easier!

Had not realized that Amazon had started school supply lists online. Very clever! Last year was the first time I did not have to buy crayons. We still have to buy the colored pencils though. Fun stuff!

    • Anne Marie D

Oh my goodness! I just realized that my oldest doesn’t need crayons 🙁 Isn’t it awesome that Amazon is making our lives easier and easier?! I have a feeling I’ll be getting my last few supplies there the day before Meet the Teacher! ha!
