This week I asked a man, other than my husband, to make love by the moonlight. In fact, I had never even met this man and my husband was sitting right next to me. Now before you start getting the wrong idea about me or my marriage, let me explain.
What’s Going On?
I am an actress and I was performing as the title character in a table read of my husband’s TV pilot script, Infinite Tina. A table read, if you aren’t familiar, is where a group of actors preform a script without much preparation or direction. It is used to give a work that has been living on the page new life so that the writer can see where adjustments might be needed.
Bill (the hubs) has been a writer as long as I’ve known him. He has written stage plays, a young adult series, and even guest post for CCHC so I think it was time that he added a TV pilot to his repertoire. After what feels like years or planning, researching, writing, and editing, Infinite Tina is ready to go…it just needs an audience. While Bill has been getting the script sent out in hopes of production we staged a reading with the help of some friends to help him see where things might need tightened up or reworked.
Infinite Tina is a cross between Quantum Leap and Orphan Black, but set in the multiverse. In the pilot, Tina transitions right into a dinner party with her husband, his best friend, and a co-worker and her wife. This world has her dressed like Donna Reed, but no one even blinks at the word cellphone. Things get heated as Tina tries to figure out what her mission is, but everyone can read her thoughts.
I hope that you will check out our presentation of Infinite Tina that was live streamed over Google Hangouts. An MP3 version is available at InfiniteTina.com if you want to download and listen.
After you give Infinite Tina a listen, let me know what you think in the comments below or tweet the author (@BillMeeks). What did you like? What would you change? WHO could you see in each of the roles? Help us make Tina better…and real.
