Back in December you may remember I participated in the #TimeLordChefs Christmas Challenge well we are back! This time the challenge is to make something inspired by Classic Who. No problem…except I have NEVER WATCHED ANY CLASSIC WHO! (Please don’t throw things at me!)

One of these days it will happen…it just hasn’t yet. So this challenge was super tough for me. So I did what any proper geek would do…I searched the internet to find anything food related in Classic Who. Let me tell you…there ain’t much! But then I found THIS!

Apparently the Third Doctor dined on some gorgonzola at the Auderly House and encouraged others to do so. Perfect…gorgonzola…I love cheese! I could make this work!

I thought it over and over. I could make a tart. Or a puff. Or a dip…with celery for the Fifth Doctor. But I just couldn’t get my act together. Then yesterday while trolling Pinterest it dawned on me…CHEESEBREAD!

I was running low on regular flour so I decided to try my hand at almond flour pizza dough…and then threw some garbanzo beans on there for fun. This cheesebread came out AWESOME.

Enjoy!

Sautee one clove of garlic in 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil. This will infuse your oil with the garlic flavor which will make your bread flavorful.

Next I mixed 2 cups of almond flour, 2 eggs, a sprinkle of baking powder and my garlic oil in a bowl. It not going to make a smooth dough, but it will be moist and moldable.

Then I spread it out on my pizza pan. It was pretty impossible for me to get a nice round edge, so I went rugged and patted down. I probably could have thinned it out a bit more.

Next up was the toppings! Like I said, the garbanzo beans were a pretty last minute decision so I opened up a can of beans, rinsed them off, and sprinkled them on top. Finally came the CHEESE!

I put the cheese on pretty thick since I wanted this to be a cheesebread. Then I popped this in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. It came out melty and crispy in all the right places…and I had to hold back from eating the whole thing!

Thanks!! I always like trying new things and this just came to me…and is AWESOME!!

      Have a great week!

I promise not to throw things at you… but ONLY because your cheese bread looks delicious! 🙂

I love having you in on the #TimeLordChefs- your stuff is inevitably both fun and tasty!

If I may be so bold, I must recommend the 4th Doctor to you. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor, even edging out the ever-so-wonderful Matt Smith. You’ll find that our compatriots, Vohn and Dini, have both created an homage to his scarf. I nearly did too, but changed plans at the last minute.

Thanks again and looking forward to next time immensely!

LOL I figured that Tom Baker’s scarf would be VERY popular so that’s why I stayed away.

David Tennant is MY Doctor, but Matt Smith is a close second. I loved him UNTIL Clara appeared. I HATE CLARA and I want her off of the show…and I want Danny Pink back…okay, enough of my ranting 😉

Thanks so much for hosting #TimeLordChefs YOU ARE AWESOME!

David Tennant is rather dishy (as the Brits say)! If you like him, you absolutely must watch the movie called “The Decoy Bride.” I think it’s on Netflix.

And thank you for saying what I’ve always thought about Clara. I’ve found her character extremely grating since the beginning, and wish she had been gone much sooner. They should have at least started with a clean slate and a new companion with the new Doctor. Sigh. Last season was a disappointment.

My hubby LOVES gorganzola….he would go gaga over this. I can’t eat dairy….yeah it sucks.

    • mrsdmeeks

UGH!! I keep having awesome cheese recipes that you can’t have 🙁 My husband is on a super strict Mediterranean Diet (almost vegan) right now so he can’t have any of this stuff either so I always feel bad!!

URGH You .Made. Me. So. Hungry….. i want to come to your house and see how the heck you just throw these yummies together!!!! I grew up on Tom Baker, he gave me nightmares, and then all of the other Doctors….. You nailed this…. Nice job 🙂

    • mrsdmeeks

THANK YOU!! It is probably one of my favorite recipes that I have ever made…and, as usual, I am the only one in the house who will eat it! HA!

  4. Lauren

That looks yummy! I’ve never had Gorgonzola. Does it taste like blue cheese?

    • mrsdmeeks

It does!! Yummy blue cheese 🙂 I might have to make this again for my next Girls’ Night!

  5. Jennifer | The Deliberate Mom

Mmmm, this sounds and look phe-nom-nom-enal!

    I love garlic too….

Thanks for sharing and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.

    Wishing you a lovely day.
    xoxo

    • mrsdmeeks

Exactly! You CANNOT go wrong with garlic 🙂

      Have an amazing day!

  6. Vohn’s Vittles

This sounds lovely. Good on you for seeking out some inspiration even though you’d never watched any old school. We’ve been picking up second hand DVDs of old school recently for pennies in charity (thrift) shops. Some dire and unwatchable & some fabulous and exciting! xx

    • mrsdmeeks

How cool!! I absolutely LOVE going thrifting! You never know what treasure you can find 🙂
