Tips for Hosting a Cookie Swap

This past weekend I hosted my first Cookie Swap! Here are some pictures from my super fun Mom’s Night In (MNI), as well as some tips that I picked up through this experience.

1) Make sure you have foods OTHER than cookies and sweets available for snacking. There are going to be lots of beverages laced with sugar and the cookie competition samples, so it pays to have options.

I asked for everyone to try and print out their cookie recipe (get the printable for yourself) so that we could all recreate the cookies if we wanted. Next year, we will just munch on cookies. 🙂

This will ensure that you have an awesome variety to sample. In addition to these drool-worthy cookies we had Butternut Squash/Nutella Stuffed Cookies and Mexican Wedding Cookies. We had the most amazing mix!

4) Prizes. Everyone likes prizes! We each voted for our favorite cookie and first prize was your choice of a bottle of red or white wine.

Your cookie swap event looks and sounds fabulous! I wish I lived closer to you… just look at all that wine (eyes glaze over).

Cookie swaps is the one thing I miss about working. My place of employment always had a swap. Seeing December comes on Monday, I may have to reserve this idea for next year.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Put one together with your mommy friends! Do you have a Homeschool Co-op? That could be a good option too!

Oh, and you should join #SharingCookies14!! I am hosting a Secret Santa style cookie swap this year!

Aww, I never saw this message until now.

LOL – I have no mommy friends… although next year I should try one with our homeschool association. That would be awesome!

Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #Christmasbloghop)!
